Dahej connectivity gets boost as Kim–Bharuch section of Delhi–Mumbai Expressway opens

Bharuch: With the recent opening of the Dehgam–Kim section of the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, Dahej, one of Gujarat’s key industrial hubs, has received improved road connectivity with the south Gujarat region.

Motorists travelling from Surat can now take the expressway from Kim to Ankleshwar, exit at Dehgam in Bharuch district, and turn right towards Dahej. Similarly, commuters coming from Dahej can use the Dahej–Bharuch road to reach the Dehgam intersection, enter the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, and travel towards Kim, Surat, and further towards Navsari.

This has now become possible after Package 5 of the Vadodara–Mumbai stretch of the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, which runs from Ankleshwar to Kim, was opened for public use on Saturday, pending official inauguration. However, motorists faced inconvenience as the opening of this package led to the closure of the entry and exit point near Pungam in Ankleshwar.

With this latest opening, the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway has become fully usable for commuters travelling between Vadodara and Navsari.

It is notable that Packages 1, 2, and 3, covering the Vadodara–Bharuch stretch, have been fully operational for the past few years, ensuring smooth travel up to Manubar in Bharuch district. Package 4, connecting Manubar to Ankleshwar, was opened a few months ago. Additionally, Package 6, from the Kim Interchange to the Ena Interchange near Surat, was also opened earlier.

Now, the remaining sections, Package 5 (Ankleshwar to Kim Interchange) and Package 7 (Ena Interchange to Kharel Interchange near Gandeva), have both been completed and opened last week.

With all these sections operational, commuters can now travel from Ahmedabad to Navsari entirely via expressways, first using the Ahmedabad–Vadodara Expressway and then the Vadodara–Navsari stretch of the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, and vice versa. DeshGujarat
