Gandhinagar: Gujarat Assembly Budget Session to Begin on February 16

Gandhinagar: The budget session of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly will commence on February 16, 2026, with the Governor summoning the House to meet at the Assembly Hall in Gandhinagar at 12:00 noon on Monday.
According to details shared by Assembly Speaker Shankarbhai Chaudhary on Monday, the session will begin with the Governor’s address on February 16, setting the tone for the legislative agenda of the state government. The annual state budget for 2026-27 will be presented the following day, on February 17.
The Speaker informed that the session will span 23 days and include 26 sittings, providing ample time for discussions on the budget, government policies, and other legislative business. During this period, members are expected to debate various issues of public importance, pass bills, and scrutinize government functioning through questions and motions.
The upcoming session is expected to be significant, as it will outline the government’s fiscal priorities and development roadmap for the coming year.
