ACB Gujarat Conducts Successful Trap; Court Assistant Caught Accepting ₹3,000 Bribe

Banaskantha, January 18, 2026: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) successfully carried out a trap operation on Saturday, arresting a Class-III court assistant while accepting a bribe of ₹3,000 from a complainant.
The accused, identified as Shaktidan Jujardan Gadhvi, Assistant (Court Commissioner), Principal Civil Court, Suigam, and resident of Madka village in Vav taluka, was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe at Krishna Parlour, opposite Shanti Kanak Entrance, Vav Circle, Bhabhar, Banaskantha district.
According to ACB officials, the complainant, described as an alert citizen, had approached the civil court in connection with a case in which the court had ordered a spot panchnama. The accused allegedly demanded ₹3,000 as illegal gratification over and above the prescribed government fee for conducting the panchnama.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the Banaskantha ACB and lodged a formal complaint. Acting on the complaint, ACB officials laid a trap. During the operation, the accused engaged in a purposeful conversation with the complainant and accepted the marked bribe money in the presence of Panch-1. He was immediately apprehended on the spot, and the full amount of ₹3,000 was recovered from him.
The trap operation was conducted under the supervision of Shri K. H. Gohil, Assistant Director, ACB Border Unit, Bhuj, while the team was led by Police Inspector N. A. Chaudhary of Banaskantha ACB, Palanpur. The overall case is being handled by Shri Baldev Singh Vaghela, Deputy Director, ACB, Rajkot.
Further legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused under relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act. DeshGujarat
