ACME Solar expands Gujarat wind project; operational capacity touches 68 MW

Surendranagar: ACME Solar Holdings Limited (ACME Solar), through its subsidiary ACME Eco Clean Energy Pvt Ltd, has commissioned an additional 12 MW of its wind power project located in Surendranagar, Gujarat. This brings the project’s total operational capacity to 68 MW out of the planned 100 MW, which is being commissioned in phases, the company announced in an exchange filing.
The ACME Eco Clean Energy wind power project has been financed by the Power Finance Corporation (PFC) and constructed using the company’s in-house EPC capabilities, with SANY’s 4 MW wind turbines deployed for the project. Power generated from the facility will be supplied under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signed between ACME Eco Clean Energy and Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL).
The press release further said that the commissioning of the additional 12 MW capacity was witnessed by officials from the Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) and Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL), and the same has been recorded in the commissioning minutes of meeting (MoM).
