Ahmedabad: Construction work for the Ahmedabad–Mumbai Bullet Train project is currently underway in the city, covering the pilot piling and segment installation works from Sabarmati to Vatva. The work is being executed by Dineshchandra R. Agrawal Infracon Pvt. Ltd.

As part of this construction activity, segment launching will be carried out on the completed bullet train piers at the Shahibaug underbridge. The work will be undertaken from 8.00 pm on January 23, 2026, to 12.00 midnight on January 28, 2026.

During this period, traffic diversions will be implemented as detailed below.

Traffic Restrictions

All three entry and exit routes of the Shahibaug underbridge will remain closed for vehicular movement from 8.00 pm on January 23, 2026, until 12.00 midnight on January 28, 2026.

Alternative Traffic Arrangements

Traffic from Delhi Darwaja and Subhash Bridge heading towards the airport or Gandhinagar will be diverted at the Subhash Bridge end. Vehicles may use the Riverfront road via Shilalekh Flats and Dufnala to proceed towards the airport and Gandhinagar.

Traffic coming from the Airport–Gandhinagar side may use the Dufnala Riverfront route and proceed through alternate internal routes. Vehicles heading towards Asarwa, Girdharnagar, Delhi Darwaja, or Kalupur may travel via Shahibaug and Mahapragya Bridge to access the main city roads.

Traffic from the Girdharnagar–Asarwa side intending to travel towards Gandhinagar or the airport will be diverted via Shahibaug, Anexi, Gayatri Temple, Army Cantonment, and onward towards the airport or Indira Bridge, Gandhinagar.

Citizens are advised to follow the traffic diversions and cooperate with authorities during the construction period. DeshGujarat
