Surat: The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has taken a significant step to further strengthen sports infrastructure in the city. A proposal to develop a state-of-the-art cricket ground in the Rundh–Magdalla area of Zone 7 has been submitted for approval. The project is estimated to cost ₹67.33 lakh and aims to provide modern practice facilities for local young players.
The proposed cricket ground will be developed on reserved land at Final Plot No. 70 under TP Scheme No. 4 (Rundh–Magdalla). The plan includes a cricket pitch, outfield, and other ancillary facilities. Over the past few years, the SMC has been developing sports grounds on vacant plots across various zones to promote fitness and recreational activities.
Once completed, the ground is expected to become a major attraction for youth and children in the Zone 7 area, offering a dedicated space for sports and training. DeshGujarat
