January 22, 2026
Ahmedabad: Slaughterhouses across the state are shut today to mark the second anniversary of the Ram Temple’s consecration (Pran Pratishtha) in Ayodhya.
The Urban Development and Urban Housing Department of the Gujarat government had issued instructions to all municipal corporation commissioners and local municipal authorities to strictly implement the closure order on Thursday.
In its official communication, the department directed civic bodies to ensure that slaughterhouses operating within their respective city and town limits remain closed in view of the anniversary celebrations of the Ram Temple’s inauguration.
The consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir was held on January 22, 2024, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the rituals for the installation of the idol of Ram Lalla in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. DeshGujarat
