Republic Day Parade 2026: Gujarat to showcase ‘Vande Mataram’ themed Tableau

New Delhi: Gujarat will showcase its legacy of patriotism and national pride at the 77th Republic Day celebrations on Kartavya Path with a vibrant tableau themed “Swatantrata Ka Mantra: Vande Mataram.”

The tableau is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the iconic patriotic song Vande Mataram and will depict the glorious evolution of the Indian national flag beginning in 1906. A key highlight will be the historic moment when Madam Bhikaji Cama unfurled the Indian flag on foreign soil, symbolising India’s early assertion of independence on the global stage.

The presentation will also trace the nation’s journey from Mahatma Gandhi’s charkha and the Swadeshi movement to the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, portraying India’s transformation towards self-reliance through visual storytelling.

Set to be witnessed by top leaders of the European Union and other distinguished guests, the Gujarat tableau will feature a captivating cultural performance by Gujarati artists. The performance will be choreographed to Zaverchand Meghani’s celebrated patriotic song Kasumbino Rang, adding emotional depth and regional flavour to the national celebration.

Through a seamless blend of history, culture and patriotism, the tableau aims to highlight Gujarat’s contribution to India’s freedom struggle and its continuing role in nation-building.

The presentation is expected to be one of the key attractions of the Republic Day parade, offering a powerful tribute to India’s national symbols, freedom fighters and the enduring spirit of unity. DeshGujarat
