January 23, 2026
Vadodara: Two airports in Gujarat, namely Vadodara and Jamnagar, have secured places among India’s top five airports in the Airports Authority of India’s (AAI) Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Round II 2025, highlighting the state’s improving aviation service standards.
According to the latest CSI rankings, several airports in Gujarat delivered strong performances at the national level. Most facilities recorded higher scores compared to Round I 2025, indicating a sustained rise in passenger satisfaction.
Two Gujarat Airports in National Top 5
Vadodara Airport (BDQ) emerged as the highest-ranked airport in the state, securing second position nationally with a near-perfect CSI score of 4.98. The airport improved its score by 0.06 points, up from 4.92 in the previous round.
Jamnagar Airport (JGA) followed closely, achieving fourth rank nationwide with a CSI score of 4.96, marking an improvement of 0.08 points from its Round I score of 4.88.
With these rankings, Vadodara and Jamnagar became the only two airports from Gujarat to feature in AAI’s national Top 5 list for customer satisfaction in Round II 2025.
Notably, Khajuraho, Bhopal and Aurangabad jointly secured the first rank, while Kullu–Manali Airport shared the second position with Vadodara. Jamnagar Airport shared its ranking with Udaipur and Hubballi airports.
Strong Performance by Other Gujarat Airports
Surat International Airport (STV) also maintained a strong showing, securing the eighth position nationally with a CSI score of 4.92, reflecting an increase of 0.05 points over the previous round.
Several mid-tier airports across the state recorded notable improvements in passenger satisfaction:
-
Rajkot Airport (RAJ) ranked 18th nationally, registering one of the highest improvements in Gujarat. Its CSI score rose sharply from 4.30 to 4.75, an increase of 0.45 points.
-
Kandla Airport (IXY) secured the 23rd rank, improving its score from 4.25 to 4.65, a 0.40-point rise.
-
Keshod (Junagadh) Airport (IXK) and Bhuj Airport (BHJ) jointly ranked 24th, each scoring 4.63. Bhuj improved by 0.29 points, while Keshod recorded a 0.22-point increase.
-
Diu Airport (DIU), though located in a Union Territory but regionally associated with Gujarat, ranked 32nd nationally with a CSI score of 4.38, up 0.20 points from Round I.
However, Bhavnagar Airport (BHU), which had recorded a CSI score of 4.77 in Round I, was not assessed in Round II 2025. Authorities cited the non-availability of scheduled commercial flights during the survey period as the reason.
Positive Trend Across Gujarat
The national average CSI score for Round II 2025 stands at 4.75. Gujarat’s top-performing airports—particularly Vadodara and Jamnagar, scored well above the national average. Moreover, every surveyed airport in the state registered an improvement over its Round I performance, reflecting ongoing enhancements in passenger services, terminal facilities, cleanliness, staff behaviour, and overall travel experience. The results underline Gujarat’s continued focus on strengthening regional air connectivity and elevating airport service quality in line with national aviation benchmarks. DeshGujarat
