NHAI issues ₹391 crore tenders for Ahmedabad-Godhra highway upgrade & maintenance

Gandhinagar: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced two major projects aimed at the modernisation, upgradation, and comprehensive maintenance of the Ahmedabad–Godhra stretch of National Highway-47 (NH-47) in Gujarat. The initiative is expected to improve traffic flow, enhance road safety, and ensure smoother travel for commuters.

1. Hi-tech upgradation of 45-km highway stretch

In the first project, NHAI has invited bids for the upgradation of the 45-km-long four-lane Ahmedabad–Godhra highway section between km 60.000 and km 105.000. The project will be executed under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode.

  • Estimated cost: Rs 363.05 crore (excluding GST)

  • Completion period: 2 years

  • Maintenance responsibility: The selected agency will also undertake 10 years of maintenance after completion

  • Bid submission deadline: February 2, 2026

2. Annual maintenance and incident management for 118-km section

A separate tender has been floated for annual maintenance and safety-related services on the highway stretch from km 04.200 to km 122.420, covering a total length of 118.220 km. The contract will be awarded on a Single Percentage Item Rate basis.

  • Scope: Annual maintenance, incident management, and restoration works

  • Estimated cost: Rs 28.28 crore (excluding GST)

  • Contract period: 1 year (365 days)

  • Key services: Round-the-clock deployment of patrol vehicles, ambulances, and tow-away cranes for passenger safety

With these projects, NHAI aims to deliver pothole-free roads, improved infrastructure, and quicker emergency response for thousands of motorists travelling between Ahmedabad and Godhra. DeshGujarat
