Fire at housing complex in Vastrapur; 10-year-old rescued

Ahmedabad: A fire broke out on the eighth floor of a government housing complex opposite the Vastrapur Government Library in the city at around 5:38 pm today. Upon receiving the alert, the Ahmedabad Fire Department rushed to the spot and immediately began firefighting operations.
A total of seven fire vehicles were deployed, including a 20 KL water bowser, a fire tender, four first responder vehicles (Bolero), and an H.P.L. Around 28 fire personnel carried out rescue and fire extinguishing operations in a coordinated manner. The fire was brought under control swiftly, preventing it from spreading further. Preliminary information suggests that the blaze was triggered by a short circuit in the flat of the landlord, Tarunbhai.
The most critical moment during the incident was the rescue of a 10-year-old girl, Vishwa, who was trapped inside the building. Despite heavy smoke and panic, firefighters entered the premises and safely evacuated the child without injury. Their timely action helped avert a major tragedy, and residents of the area appreciated the fire department’s prompt response.
