GSRTC to Run 7,800+ Trips with 195 Extra Buses for Bhavnath Mahashivratri Mela

Junagadh: The Mahashivratri Mela will be held in Junagadh for five days starting tomorrow. For the convenience of lakhs of devotees visiting the fair, special transport arrangements have been made by the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC).
Last year, 2.91 lakh passengers availed of the special bus service; keeping this in mind, the capacity has been increased this year. The target has been set to facilitate around 3.70 lakh passengers through more than 7,800 trips using approximately 195 additional buses.
A total of 195 additional buses will be operated to manage the rush of devotees. Of these, 80 extra buses will run daily between the Junagadh bus station and the Girnar foothills.
For inter-district connectivity, a total of 115 express buses—65 from the Junagadh division and 50 from other divisions—will operate for devotees travelling from surrounding districts. To ensure passenger safety and punctuality, all buses will be continuously monitored 24×7 through GPS during the fair.
With these extensive arrangements by the GSRTC, Shiva devotees will be able to attend the Bhavnath Mahashivratri fair and have darshan of Mahadev without inconvenience. DeshGujarat
