Gandhinagar: The Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation has removed an illegal encroachment outside a church located on the busy Sarkhej–Gandhinagar Highway in the Sargasan area as part of the ongoing mega demolition drive in the city.

According to available information, the additional construction carried out by the church outside its premises had become an obstruction to road movement. Earlier, the Vishva Hindu Parishad and other organisations had submitted representations demanding the demolition of the illegal structure.

Acting on these representations, the civic body conducted a late-night operation and completely removed the unauthorised construction outside the church. DeshGujarat
