Ahmedabad: North Western Railway has announced the introduction of the Udaipur City–Asarva (Ahmedabad)–Udaipur Vande Bharat Express (Train Nos. 26963/26964), marking a major boost to high-speed rail connectivity between southern Rajasthan and Gujarat.

According to the official notification, the inaugural one-way special run (Train No. 09663) from Udaipur City to Asarva will operate on February 16, 2026. The train will depart from Udaipur City at 12:25 pm and reach Asarva at 5:15 pm, halting at Zawar, Dungarpur, and Himatnagar en route.

Regular operations from February 18

Regular services of Train Nos. 26963/26964 will commence from February 18, 2026 (Wednesday). The semi-high-speed train will run six days a week and remain cancelled on Tuesdays.

Stoppages and maintenance

The train will have commercial halts at Zawar, Dungarpur, and Himatnagar. Primary maintenance will be carried out at Udaipur City, with watering and cleaning arrangements at both Udaipur and Asarva stations.

Modern rake configuration

The Vande Bharat rake will comprise a total of eight coaches, including Executive Chair Car and Chair Car coaches, along with two power cars, offering enhanced passenger comfort, faster acceleration, and modern onboard amenities.

The new service is expected to significantly reduce travel time, improve regional connectivity, and provide a comfortable high-speed travel option for passengers commuting between Rajasthan and Gujarat. DeshGujarat
