Ahmedabad: As of December 31, 2025, a total of 13 police offices, including the office of the Assistant Police Commissioner in Ahmedabad city, are functioning from rented premises, the Gujarat government informed the Assembly.

According to details shared in response to a question in the Assembly, Deputy Chief Minister (Home) Harsh Sanghavi stated that several police offices have been operating from rented spaces for over a decade, with some continuing in such premises for more than five decades.

• Assistant Police Commissioner, A Division Office, Ahmedabad – 17 years

• Thaltej Police Chowky – 17 years

• Sabarmati Riverfront West Police Station – 10 years

• Gujarat Housing Police Chowky – 14 years

• Nagorivad Police Chowky – 55 years

• Krishnanagar Police Chowky – 10 years

• Saijpur Police Chowky – 10 years

• Chamanpura Police Chowky – 38 years

• Charodiya Police Chowky – 46 years

• Hatkeshwar Police Chowky – 54 years

• Odhav GIDC Police Chowky – 32 years

• ST Police Chowky – 10 years

• Vejalpur Police Chowky – 12 years

In response to another query, the government stated that ₹3,866 in rent has remained pending over the past two years.
