32 Hotels in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar Hold Liquor Permits; Govt Earns ₹116.39 Crore in 2 Years

Gandhinagar: A total of 32 hotels in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar districts have been granted permits to sell liquor as of January 25, 2026, the Gujarat government informed the Assembly.
Responding to a question during the ongoing Budget Session of the Assembly, the state government stated that these permits have been issued under the provisions of the Prohibition and Excise Department.
The government further revealed that over the past two years, it has earned ₹116.39 crore (₹1,16,39,62,900) from liquor sales through these licensed establishments in the two districts.
