AMC Announces Fee Structure for Vastral Sports Complex

Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has announced the fee structure for the multiple sports facilities to be provided at the newly developed Vastral Sports Complex, built at a cost of ₹61.67 crore in the eastern part of the city.

Spread over 45,000 square metres, the centrally air-conditioned sports complex has been constructed by the Building Project Department. The facility is designed to promote grassroots participation as well as advanced-level training across multiple sports disciplines.

Multi-Level Fee Structure

According to AMC, the monthly fee structure has been categorised into different levels Beginner/Learner, Intermediate, Semi-Advance, Advance and High Performance to ensure accessibility as well as financial sustainability of operations under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

Swimming (Beginner) has been fixed at ₹600 per month, while a three-month High Performance package is priced at ₹5,100. Table Tennis fees range from ₹200 for beginners to ₹4,000 for high-performance training. Tennis ranges from ₹500 to ₹5,000, and Football from ₹500 to ₹3,000, depending on the level of coaching.

Gymnasium access has been fixed at ₹400 per month. Badminton ranges from ₹500 to ₹4,000, Basketball and Volleyball from ₹200 to ₹3,000, and Yoga from ₹200 to ₹2,000. Boxing, Martial Arts/Karate, Athletics, Cricket, Squash, Chess, Kickboxing and Skating also have graded fee slabs based on training intensity and expertise.

Wellness services such as Jacuzzi, steam bath and sauna bath will be available on a per-session basis (minimum four persons), while library membership has been fixed at ₹300 per month. AMC has also specified that fees will be increased by 5 per cent annually.

PPP Operator and Concessions

The complex will be operated under a PPP model by the Soft Tennis Association of Gujarat for a period of 10 years, with a fixed monthly rent of ₹2 lakh payable to AMC.

As part of the tender conditions, the operator will provide free coaching and admission to students of municipal schools under the Municipal School Board. Additionally, no rent was charged for the first month to allow operational stabilisation.

AMC stated that the structured fee model, along with the introduction of Semi-Advance, Advance and High Performance categories, was finalised after negotiations to ensure operational viability while keeping access affordable for citizens.

With a swimming pool, gymnasium, multiple indoor courts, athletics facilities, martial arts training zones, cafeteria and library under one roof, the Vastral Sports Complex is expected to emerge as a major sports hub for residents of eastern Ahmedabad. DeshGujarat
