Gandhinagar to Get New Rs. 27 Crore Cricket Stadium

Gandhinagar: In a major boost for sports enthusiasts in the state capital, the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) has announced the construction of a state-of-the-art cricket stadium in the Randheja area (near GH-5 Corner). The ambitious project will be developed at an estimated cost of ₹26.85 crore.
Stadium to Be Ready in 18 Months
The Municipal Corporation has initiated the tender process for the project. The stadium is expected to be completed within 18 months (including the monsoon period) from the commencement of work. The design and proposed facilities have been planned in accordance with international standards.
Modern Facilities for Players and Spectators
The stadium will feature comprehensive infrastructure for players, officials, media personnel, and spectators:
Team Rooms: Separate rooms for Team A and Team B, along with modern bathing and changing facilities.
Media Platform: A dedicated media platform for live broadcasting and coverage by journalists.
Cricket Pitch: A standard 22-yard main pitch with high-quality Bermuda grass to ensure optimal playing conditions.
High-Mast Lighting: Four high-mast towers equipped with a total of 52 floodlights to facilitate day-night matches.
Large LED Display: A professional 15×26-metre LED screen for live scores and match replays.
Security and Environmental Measures
A comprehensive CCTV surveillance network will be installed across the stadium premises to ensure security. The surrounding area will be developed with landscaped greenery, including the plantation of banyan, date palm, and yellow spathodea trees. Modern waste management systems and water conservation mechanisms will also be implemented as part of the project’s environmental planning.
Once completed, the stadium is expected to significantly enhance the city’s sports infrastructure and provide a strong platform for local cricketers to showcase their talent. DeshGujarat
