Gujarat Govt Pays ₹300 Daily to Kin of Fishermen Held in Pakistan; ₹2.33 Crore in 2 Years

Gandhinagar: The state government is providing financial assistance to the families of Gujarati fishermen detained by Pakistani authorities. According to information shared by the Fisheries Minister in the Assembly, a daily assistance of ₹300 was paid to 206 families over the last two years ending December 31, 2025.
Rates of Assistance
The current assistance rates have been in effect since April 1, 2019. The last revision was implemented on that date, when the government increased the daily assistance by ₹150.
Assistance Disbursed in the Last Two Years
According to government data, the financial assistance provided over the past two years is as follows:

2024: A total of 105 fishing families received ₹1,19,12,400 as financial aid.

2025: As of December 31, 101 fishing families were paid ₹1,14,06,300.
