Ahmedabad Airport Issues Passenger Advisory Amid Airspace Closures in Middle East

Ahmedabad: The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) in Ahmedabad on Saturday issued a passenger advisory citing temporary closures and restrictions across multiple international airspaces. The advisory comes amid heightened tensions in parts of the Middle East following US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran, which have led to precautionary airspace restrictions affecting international flight movements.
According to the airport authorities, certain international flights operating to and from Ahmedabad may face delays, rerouting, or cancellations due to the prevailing restrictions. Passengers have been urged to check the latest flight status with their respective airlines before proceeding to the airport.
Travellers have also been advised to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience. The airport management stated that the measures are aimed at ensuring safety and maintaining smooth travel operations during the period of disruption.
Air India, IndiGo Suspend Middle East Flights Amid Escalating Airspace Restrictions
Meanwhile, major Indian carriers Air India and IndiGo have announced the suspension of their flight operations to the Middle East following evolving airspace restrictions in parts of the region.
Air India, in a travel advisory posted on its official social media handle, stated that all its flights to destinations across the Middle East have been suspended in view of the developing situation. The airline said it remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety for passengers and crew and will continue to assess the security environment before resuming services. Passengers have been advised to check their flight status on the airline’s website or contact its 24×7 call centre for updates.
Similarly, IndiGo announced that all flights to and from the Middle East have been cancelled until 0000 hrs due to evolving airspace restrictions around Iran and neighbouring areas. The airline said the decision was taken prioritising passenger and crew safety. Affected customers have been offered options to explore alternate travel arrangements or opt for a full refund.
