Hot & Humid Air Likely to Prevail in Parts of Gujarat from March 4 to 7: IMD

Ahmedabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a gradual rise in both maximum and minimum temperatures across Gujarat over the next few days, while dry weather is expected to persist across the state till March 8.

According to the latest weather bulletin, maximum temperatures are likely to rise gradually by 3–5°C over the next four days. Minimum temperatures are also expected to increase by 2–3°C during the next three days. Thereafter, no major change is likely.

In its weather warning, the IMD stated that hot and humid conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated places over coastal areas of the Gujarat region and Saurashtra-Kutch from March 4 to March 7.

Dry weather is very likely to continue across all districts of the Gujarat region, Saurashtra-Kutch, and Diu, Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli during the next seven days.

Ahmedabad Forecast

For Ahmedabad and adjoining areas, the sky is expected to remain mainly clear till 8:30 am on March 2. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 34°C, while the minimum temperature may hover near 22°C.

Health Advisory

The IMD noted that while temperatures will remain moderate and largely tolerable for the general public, hot and humid conditions may pose moderate health concerns for vulnerable groups such as infants, the elderly, and people with chronic illnesses.

Residents are advised to avoid prolonged heat exposure, wear lightweight, light-coloured, loose cotton clothing, and cover their heads while outdoors. DeshGujarat
