IPL 2026 First Phase Schedule Out: Ahmedabad to Host Match on April 4

Ahmedabad: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today announced the schedule for the first phase of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, covering matches from March 28 to April 12.
The 19th edition of the tournament kicks off on March 28, with defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) hosting Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Bengaluru. While the partial fixtures span multiple venues across India including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Guwahati, and others.
Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, home to Gujarat Titans (GT), will host its first match of the season on Saturday, April 4, when GT take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) at 7:30 PM IST. This evening clash promises high-octane action, with the stadium’s world-class facilities and electric atmosphere expected to draw massive crowds.
Narendra Modi Stadium has long been a fortress for big-ticket IPL encounters, known for its massive capacity (over 130,000 spectators) and history of hosting thrilling matches. In recent seasons, it has witnessed memorable performances, high-scoring thrillers, and crucial playoff games.
The BCCI noted that the remaining schedule, including later league-stage games, playoffs, and the final (set for May 31), will be released in due course, once assembly election dates in certain states are finalized to avoid any conflicts.With the tournament running until May 31, cricket enthusiasts can look forward to 84 matches packed with drama.
