Vadodara: An accident occurred near Dhaniavi Chowkdi on Ahmedabad–Mumbai National Highway No. 48 in Vadodara last night after strong winds caused an electricity pole to collapse on the road, leading to a truck overturning and falling on a van. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, and traffic on the highway was disrupted for some time following the accident.

According to information received, a truck loaded with wood was travelling from Surat towards Ahmedabad when the accident took place. Due to strong winds and sudden stormy weather, an electricity pole fell on the road near Dhaniavi Chowkdi. While trying to avoid the falling pole, the truck driver lost control of the steering, causing the truck to overturn. The overturned truck fell onto an Eeco van coming behind it.

Locals rushed to the spot immediately after the accident and informed the authorities. Both the truck driver and the driver of the van sustained injuries. An ambulance team reached the spot and shifted the injured to Sayaji Hospital in Vadodara for treatment.

Police also reached the spot, cleared the traffic jam, and started an investigation into the incident. Officials said the accident led to temporary congestion on the highway before traffic movement was restored. DeshGujarat
