Ahmedabad: Patan Cyber Crime police have booked four bloggers for allegedly sharing videos of a police-led procession, drawing criticism over alleged selective enforcement as similar videos often circulate without action.

Following allegations of excesses, the Patan SP ordered departmental action, and four Local Crime Branch personnel were suspended for negligence and allegedly assaulting innocent persons.

An FIR filed on March 19 states that the bloggers shared “provocative” Instagram reels showing accused being paraded after their arrest in connection with a March 15 violent attack at a farmhouse in Chanasma taluka.

Police said armed miscreants vandalised property and clashed with personnel during the incident, leading to multiple cases and detentions.

During social media monitoring, police identified accounts sharing the videos, stating the posts could incite enmity, spread fear, and disturb public order. A case was registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. DeshGujarat
