Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has approved final eligibility certificates to extend financial assistance to 23 major industrial units across the state. These approvals are expected to generate approximately 5,634 employment opportunities, opening new avenues for economic growth for the youth, according to an official press release.
The approvals were granted at a high-level committee meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi, reaffirming Gujarat’s position as a preferred investment destination.
The clearances were issued under two key schemes. Under the Industrial Policy-2015 (Incentives to Industries), proposals worth ₹770.29 crore from 22 large industrial units were approved. Additionally, under the Atmanirbhar Gujarat Scheme-2022, an investment proposal worth ₹837.67 crore from a major unit in Panchmahal district received approval.
The state government’s incentive framework focuses on providing net SGST reimbursements, interest subsidies, and EPF reimbursements to industries. These measures aim not only to boost large-scale industries but also to accelerate growth in the MSME sector, thereby fostering a robust and industry-friendly ecosystem across Gujarat.
District-wise, key approvals include ₹186.77 crore in the auto sector in Ahmedabad; ₹148.34 crore in textile, paper, and allied sectors in Surat; ₹81.09 crore in metal and minerals in Gandhinagar; and ₹57.90 crore in metal and other sectors in Sabarkantha. In Panchmahal, ₹15.80 crore was approved under one category, along with a major ₹837.67 crore investment in the general sector.
