Kandla Port Sets Record with Largest-Ever Wind Turbine Blade Shipment
April 01, 2026
Kandla: The Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), which manages Kandla Port, on Tuesday set a new benchmark in renewable energy logistics by handling its largest-ever single shipment of wind turbine blades.
A total of 153 blades, with a combined volume of 1,67,675 cubic metres (CBM), were unloaded from the vessel MV KANG QI FU HUA, marking a significant milestone in the port’s role in supporting India’s green energy infrastructure.
In a post on X, DPA Kandla highlighted the achievement, describing it as a record for the highest cargo volume of wind turbine blades handled in a single shipment. The authority said the arrival of the vessel underscored Kandla’s growing capability in managing specialised project cargo linked to renewable energy.
The development comes a day after the port authority announced that it had surpassed its cargo handling target of 158.60 million tonnes for the financial year 2025–26, signalling strong momentum in maritime trade. The port said the milestone reflects its continued growth trajectory as it eyes a new record in annual cargo throughput. DeshGujarat
