NHAI Revises Tax Rates at Choryasi Toll Plaza on NH-48 from April 1

Surat: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a revision in user fee (toll) rates at the Choryasi Toll Plaza on the Bharuch–Surat section of NH-48, with the new rates set to come into effect from April 1, 2026 (00:00 hrs) for the financial year 2026–27.
The revised toll structure has been approved by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and will apply to vehicles using the Choryasi fee plaza.
As per the notification, the toll for car/jeep/van (LMV) has been fixed at ₹125 for a single journey and ₹185 for a return trip within a day. Monthly passes for 50 journeys will cost ₹4,150, while locally registered commercial vehicles will be charged ₹60 per trip.
For light commercial vehicles (LCV/LGV/Mini Bus), the single journey toll has been set at ₹200 and ₹300 for return journeys, with a monthly pass priced at ₹6,705. Trucks and buses (2-axle) will be charged ₹420 for a single journey and ₹630 for return trips.
Similarly, three-axle commercial vehicles will pay ₹460 for a single journey, while heavy vehicles (4 to 6 axles) will be charged ₹660. Oversized vehicles (seven or more axles) will attract a toll of ₹805 for a single journey and ₹1,205 for return travel within a day.
The annual pass for private non-commercial vehicles has been fixed at ₹3,075, in line with NHAI guidelines. Residents living within a 20-km radius of the toll plaza can avail a monthly pass at ₹350.
NHAI stated that the highway stretch has been developed under public funding, and vehicles carrying loads beyond permissible limits will be charged ten times the applicable toll fee.
