Gujarat Sizzles as Maximum Temperature Touches 41.7°C

Ahmedabad: Maximum temperatures continued to rise across Gujarat, with several cities recording above-normal heat levels, according to the weather report issued by the India Meteorological Department this morning.
Rajkot emerged as the hottest location in the state, recording a maximum temperature of 41.7°C, which is 2.4°C above normal. Ahmedabad and Bhuj also reported high temperatures of 40.7°C each, with departures of 1.3°C and 2.0°C respectively. Kandla matched Ahmedabad and Bhuj at 40.7°C but recorded a sharp departure of 4.7°C above normal, indicating significantly elevated heat conditions.
Vadodara registered a maximum temperature of 40.4°C, while Gandhinagar recorded 40.2°C, reflecting a consistent rise in temperatures across central Gujarat. Deesa also remained on the higher side at 39.8°C.
In Saurashtra, Amreli, Bhavnagar, and Porbandar recorded maximum temperatures of 38.9°C, 38.9°C, and 38.0°C respectively, all above normal levels. Surat touched 38.9°C with a departure of 2.0°C, while inland areas such as Dang reported 39.0°C.
Coastal regions, however, remained relatively cooler. Veraval recorded a maximum of 31.4°C, Dwarka recorded 30.8°C, and Okha 33.3°C, influenced by maritime conditions. Diu and Daman reported 34.4°C and 35.6°C respectively.
Minimum temperatures across the state remained largely near normal to slightly above normal in some areas. Bhavnagar recorded a notably higher minimum temperature of 27.4°C, which is 3.1°C above normal, while Surat and Rajkot also saw warmer nights.
Humidity levels varied significantly, with coastal areas such as Veraval, Dwarka, and Surat recording high morning relative humidity above 80%, contributing to discomfort due to humid conditions. DeshGujarat
