Amit Shah to visit Ahmedabad for voting in civic polls; PM Modi to cast vote via postal ballot

Ahmedabad: With polling for local civic elections in Gujarat scheduled for Sunday, April 26, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit his home state to cast his vote. Shah is expected to exercise his franchise at around 11 am at a polling station in the Naranpura area. He is likely to arrive with his family for voting in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) polls, continuing his usual practice during elections.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also participate in the civic polls by casting his vote via postal ballot. Notably, the Prime Minister had opted for postal voting in the previous two civic body elections as well. However, during Assembly elections and Lok Sabha polls, he has cast his vote in person in the city.

Voting for the elections will be held from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. The polls will cover 15 municipal corporations, 84 municipalities, 34 district panchayats, and 260 taluka panchayats across the state. In addition, by-elections for 13 vacant seats in 11 municipal corporations will also be conducted. DeshGujarat
