Ahmedabad: The main opposition Congress party in Gujarat has objected the shifting of polling booth in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) election in Khokhra-Mahemdavad booth 39,40.

The Congress party in a statement said that AMC election ward 44 Khokhra – Mahemdavad booth number 39, 40, sub zonal office was declared as a polling station. However in the morning, right on the polling day, the polling station was shifted to Kamdar Rajya Vima Yojana, without informing the Congress party candidate or the voters.

The Congress joint convener of Election Coordination Committee, Navin Bhavsar stated that due to such ‘taghlakhi’ decision, lot of voters have returned home without casting their votes. Bhavsar demanded that the election commission should extend the time of voting and also take action against the officials who took this decision.
