EVM Button Issue Reported at Vasna Polling Booth, Machine Replaced
April 26, 2026
Ahmedabad: A minor technical issue was reported at Booth No. 43 in Vasana Ward, located at G.B. Shah College, during polling for the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) civic election on Sunday.
According to officials, one of the buttons on the Ballot Unit (BU) was found to be hard to press by a voter. However, it was confirmed that after the vote was cast, the red indicator light functioned properly, suggesting that the vote had been successfully registered.
To address the concern, a Master Trainer was called to the booth, who personally verified that the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) was in proper working condition. Despite the confirmation, authorities decided to replace the Ballot Unit as a precautionary measure to ensure smooth polling and maintain voter confidence.
Polling at the booth continued without further disruption following the replacement. DeshGujarat
