AMC Nets Rs 365.8 Crore from Auction of Two Bodakdev Commercial Plots

Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has generated Rs 365.8 crore through the online auction of two commercial land parcels in Bodakdev.
Earlier this year, the civic body had put 19 residential and commercial plots up for online bidding. On Tuesday, five plots located in Bodakdev, Thaltej, Motera, and Shilaj were taken up for auction, though only the two Bodakdev properties attracted buyers. The remaining plots in Thaltej, Motera, and Shilaj failed to receive bids.
One of the plots, Final Plot No. 353/Part 1 under TP Scheme 50, spans 8,167 square metres and was sold at Rs 2.52 lakh per sq m, slightly above its reserve price. The transaction value reached Rs 205.9 crore, marginally exceeding the upset price of Rs 205.8 crore.
The second parcel, measuring 5,085 square metres and identified as Final Plot No. 353/Part 2 under TP Scheme 50, received a much higher bid of Rs 3.16 lakh per sq m compared to its base rate of Rs 2.52 lakh per sq m. Located behind Mango Hotel, the property was auctioned for Rs 159.9 crore against a reserve price of Rs 127.5 crore.
The deals for both plots will become final only after approval from the AMC standing committee, which is yet to be reconstituted following the recent municipal elections. The auctions were originally planned for April but had to be deferred because of the model code of conduct.
Earlier in January, AMC had auctioned 11 plots and earned Rs 916.3 crore, surpassing the combined upset price of Rs 811.8 crore. DeshGujarat
