Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), under its Heat Action Plan, has issued Orange and Yellow alerts for the city for the next seven days, as the maximum temperature is likely to cross the 45°C mark, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast.

According to an AMC press release, the forecasting and alert grading have been carried out in partnership with Setaleo Labs. The system uses Land Surface Temperature data along with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms to analyse air temperature at a 30×30 metre pixel-level resolution. Areas expected to record the highest temperatures have been identified and marked as heat hotspots.
