Ahmedabad: A commercial plot in Bodakdev was sold for Rs 222 crore during an online auction conducted by the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC), marking one of the biggest property deals in the civic body’s recent auctions.
According to AMC officials, the 7,577 sq m commercial plot located in Bodakdev was purchased by Nirma Limited for Rs 222 crore. The base upset price for the land was fixed at Rs 2.90 lakh per sq m, while the final bid reached Rs 2.93 lakh per sq m.
In the same auction, a commercial plot near Mango Hotel in Bodakdev measuring 2,521 sq m was sold for Rs 3.16 lakh per sq m, fetching Rs 159.70 crore against a base price of Rs 127.5 crore.
AMC officials said the civic body had put four plots up for auction with a combined reserve price of Rs 595.9 crore. However, only two plots received successful bids during the latest round of e-auctions.
Last week, AMC had conducted auctions for five plots, but only one plot was sold. The sale proposals will now be placed before the AMC Standing Committee for final approval.
Officials said the civic body has increasingly relied on online auctions to generate revenue through the sale of commercial plots across different parts of the city.
Among other recent sales, AMC auctioned a 4,427 sq m plot in Hanspura to Utkarsh Seva Sansthan for Rs 26.6 crore, while a 2,083 sq m plot in Nikol was sold to Prayas Foundation Sports, Culture and Education Trust for Rs 10.4 crore.
