AMC School Board and Japan’s Yamaha ink MoU; 1692 Students to get Music Training

Ahmedabad: Students of municipal schools under the Nagar Prathmik Shikshan Samiti, Ahmedabad, will now receive international-level training in music. An MOU was signed today between Yamaha Music India Private Limited, Japan, and Nagar Prathmik Shikshan Samiti, Ahmedabad for this.
Under this MOU, as a pilot project for two years from 2026-27 to 2027-28, 1692 students of Standard-5 from 24 schools of the Municipal School Board will benefit from special music training. For this, in the first phase, 48 teachers from 24 schools will be given special training in July-2026 by experts from Yamaha Music India Private Limited, Japan.
After the training, each of the 1692 students of Standard-5 from 24 schools of the Municipal School Board will be given 1 recorder and a set of music books free of cost. Additionally, 1 keyboard will be provided to each of the 24 municipal schools. A special period for music will be allotted every week in the students’ timetable to develop various musical skills. After the two-year pilot project, it will be reviewed and, based on its success, consideration will be given to expanding this program to the remaining schools.
The main objective of this initiative is to provide an international-level training experience so that municipal school students can also build a career in music according to their interests and aptitudes.
This MOU was signed in the presence of Managing Director Mr. Kennei Sakai, Sales Unit Head Mr. Ryoji Maruyama, Manager- Marketing Mr. Kazuki Watanabe, Dy. Manager Mr. Ashwani Kumar, and Academic In-charge- West Mr. Gaurav Tripathi from Yamaha Music India Private Limited, Japan, and Chairman Dr. Sujaybhai Mehta, Vice Chairman Shri Vipulbhai Sevak, and Administrative Officer Dr. L.D.
