Land Tenure Dispute Resolved, Projects on Sabarmati Riverfront Get Green Signal
May 15, 2026
Ahmedabad: Major commercial projects along the Sabarmati Riverfront are set to move forward after a two-year land tenure dispute between the Gujarat revenue department and the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Ltd (SRFDCL) was resolved.
The clearance allows developers to take possession of land and begin long-delayed projects. Mumbai-based E-City Real Estates has already received a 4,420 sq m plot near Vallabh Sadan on a 99-year lease for a ₹156 crore high-rise project. Soil testing has begun, with plans for a 14–20 storey mixed-use tower featuring offices, retail spaces, restaurants, cafes and a food court.
The move also clears the way for the ₹130 crore Imagicaa entertainment hub near Atal Bridge on the eastern riverfront.
Officials say the resolution is expected to speed up several upcoming projects and further strengthen the Sabarmati Riverfront as a major destination for business, tourism and recreation in Ahmedabad. DeshGujarat
