Census-2027 Self-Enumeration Drive Launched in Gujarat for 15-day period from May 17 – 31

Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Sunday formally launched the self-enumeration process for Census-2027 in Gujarat by completing his family details online, marking the beginning of the state’s participation in India’s first digitally enabled census exercise. Self-enumeration has been introduced for the first time in Census-2027, allowing citizens to submit information through online portals and mobile platforms.

The Chief Minister urged people across Gujarat to actively participate in this important national exercise and complete their online self-enumeration within the stipulated 15-day period from May 17 to May 31, 2026, contributing towards a stronger, inclusive and developed India.

This year’s Census-2027 is being conducted entirely in digital mode, offering citizens a secure and convenient platform to submit details from anywhere. Through the self-enumeration facility, residents can provide household information online without waiting for door-to-door visits by census officials.

Citizens can complete the process through the official self-enumeration portal:

The self-enumeration facility remains open for a 15-day period before field verification begins.

Following the online phase, more than one lakh census workers in Gujarat will conduct House Listing Operations (HLO) from June 1 to June 30, 2026, through door-to-door visits. Similar phased implementation is being followed across states under the nationwide Census-2027 programme.

During the launch event, State Census Operations Director Sujal Mayatra briefed the Chief Minister about census-related activities and presented him with a commemorative memento after the completion of the online self-enumeration process. DeshGujarat
