Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has initiated a major urban infrastructure drive with more than 50 kilometres of precinct development, iconic roads, model roads and corridor projects currently under execution or in the planning stage. The large-scale initiative aims to strengthen Ahmedabad’s urban identity through smart, green and people-friendly infrastructure while improving traffic flow and public mobility across the city, the civic body said.

As part of the initiative, AMC has approved projects worth hundreds of crores to modernise roads and public spaces with pedestrian-friendly and sustainable urban features. Key projects include metro-linked precinct development, sports-themed corridors, iconic roads and an East-West corridor to improve connectivity and urban aesthetics.

Precinct Development
