Fire Breaks Out at Solitaire Corporate Building on SG Highway; Over 100 rescued

Ahmedabad: A major fire broke out at Solitaire Business Park in the Makarba area on Friday afternoon, spreading rapidly across multiple floors of the commercial building located along S.G. Highway. The fire department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) reached the spot and rescued over 100 people while bringing the blaze under control.

According to Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES), the fire originated on the fourth floor of the building and quickly spread to the fifth and sixth floors. Thick smoke engulfed the premises, triggering a large-scale rescue and evacuation operation.

The fire control room received a call about the incident at 2:50 pm. Prahladnagar Fire Station was alerted at 2:52 pm, and the first firefighting team departed at 2:54 pm. The first fire vehicle reached the site within four minutes, at 2:58 pm.

As smoke spread through the building, firefighting teams began evacuating people trapped inside. The fire department safely evacuated 102 people, while more than 50 others were rescued during the operation.

During rescue efforts, one person was found unconscious. Fire personnel administered CPR on the spot and revived him before shifting him to Civil Hospital for further treatment. One person sustained injuries in the incident, while no fatalities were reported.

Fire department officials said the building’s fire safety system was operational, helping contain the blaze during the initial stages and making firefighting efforts more effective.

A total of 24 vehicles were deployed by the AMC Fire Department for the operation, including one mini fire fighter, seven water bowsers, one HPL vehicle, one boom bowser, five ambulances, one EMT unit and eight first responder Bolero vehicles.

The operation involved personnel across multiple ranks, including 58 firemen, 26 drivers, seven Jamadars, two sub-officers, two station officers, three divisional fire officers, one Deputy Chief Fire Officer (CFO), two Additional CFOs and one Chief Fire Officer.

Officials said prompt response by the fire department, timely rescue efforts and the building’s functioning fire safety system helped avert major casualties. DeshGujarat
