Temperatures Soar Again in Gujarat; Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar Among Hottest at 41.5°C

Ahmedabad: Several parts of Gujarat continued to experience hot weather conditions on Sunday, with Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Surendranagar emerging as the hottest locations in the state, each recording a maximum temperature of 41.5°C, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Ahmedabad’s maximum temperature of 41.5°C was 1.3 degrees below normal, while Gandhinagar recorded the same temperature, which was 0.6 degrees above normal. Surendranagar also touched 41.5°C, though it remained 1.1 degrees below the seasonal average.
Among other major cities, Rajkot recorded a maximum temperature of 40.9°C, followed by Bhavnagar at 40.5°C, Deesa at 40.2°C and Vadodara at 40.0°C. Amreli registered 39.9°C, while Kandla and Bhuj recorded 38.5°C and 37.4°C respectively.
Coastal areas remained comparatively cooler. Veraval recorded a maximum temperature of 33.3°C, the lowest among the reported stations, followed by Okha at 34.7°C, Naliya at 35.1°C, Porbandar at 35.2°C and Surat at 35.8°C.
The minimum temperatures across the state remained above normal at most locations. Vadodara recorded the highest minimum temperature at 30.6°C, followed by Ahmedabad at 30.0°C. Veraval, Surat, Porbandar and Diu also reported warm nights with minimum temperatures close to 29°C.
Humidity levels remained high in coastal districts, with Okha reporting 88 per cent relative humidity at 8:30 am, followed by Veraval at 84 per cent and Dwarka at 83 per cent. DeshGujarat
