Ankleshwar: The state government-developed Transport Nagar in the Ankleshwar Industrial Estate has commenced temporary operations from Tuesday, providing a major boost to the region’s logistics network and offering much-needed relief to drivers associated with industries and the transport sector.

Constructed at a cost of Rs 32 crore, the facility has been designed to strengthen transportation infrastructure in one of Gujarat’s key industrial hubs. The Transport Nagar offers parking space for 510 light and heavy vehicles, helping reduce roadside congestion and improve traffic management in and around the industrial estate.

A key feature of the project is a modern warehouse spanning 3,125 square metres, with a height of 13 metres, designed to facilitate efficient storage and handling of goods.

Drivers transporting cargo to and from Ankleshwar and nearby industrial areas will now have access to a range of essential amenities at the facility. These include a canteen and other support services aimed at improving the convenience and welfare of drivers and transport operators.

The operationalisation of the Transport Nagar is expected to streamline the movement of goods, enhance logistics efficiency, and contribute to better traffic regulation in the industrial region. The facility is also expected to make freight transportation more organised, accessible, and time-efficient for businesses operating in and around Ankleshwar.
