Palitana: A lion was spotted once again on the sacred Shatrunjaya Hill in Palitana, one of the most revered Jain pilgrimage sites in Gujarat, causing panic among pilgrims undertaking the climb.
According to reports, the lion suddenly appeared on the footpath used by pilgrims, prompting many to halt their journey midway and move to safety. In the rush, several devotees left behind their bags and belongings on the trail.
In an unusual incident, the lion picked up a pilgrim’s bag in its mouth and disappeared into the nearby forest. After being informed, forest department personnel launched a search operation and successfully traced the missing bag in the forest area.
The recovered bag was safely handed over to the Sheth Anandji Kalyanji Trust, which subsequently returned it to its rightful owner. No injuries were reported in the incident. DeshGujarat
