AUDA to Complete Dev Sarovar Lake Redevelopment Project by June-End
June 09, 2026
Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) is undertaking the redevelopment of Dev Sarovar lake in Jetalpur at an estimated cost of Rs 8.50 crore, with the project expected to be completed by the end of June 2026.
Spread across 189,394 square metres, the lake beautification project aims to transform the site into a recreational and eco-friendly destination for residents of Jetalpur and nearby areas. AUDA said in a press note on Tuesday that the work is progressing rapidly and is in its final stages.
As part of the redevelopment, AUDA is constructing a walkway and jogging track around the lake, a children’s play area equipped with modern recreational facilities, and two gazebos for visitors. The project also includes parking facilities for two-wheelers and four-wheelers, modern toilet blocks, landscaped gardens and other visitor amenities.
To enhance the ecological value of the area, plantation has been carried out using the Miyawaki method. Colourful plants have been planted along the walkway, while large trees have been planted around the compound wall, to make a green zone around the lake.
According to AUDA, the redeveloped Dev Sarovar lake will serve as a scenic public space and picnic destination, offering recreational facilities while promoting environmental sustainability.
The project is expected to be opened to the public after the completion of works later this month. DeshGujarat
