Gujarat Okays Early Release of Irrigation Water into Narmada Canals from June 11

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has approved the early release of irrigation water through the Narmada canal network from June 11, 2026, in the interest of farmers across the Narmada command area.
The decision was taken at the highest level following representations from MPs and MLAs and a review of available water stock during a high-level meeting of Narmada Project officials. The release of water has been approved ahead of the scheduled date to meet the irrigation requirements of farmers’ crops. DeshGujarat
