Notorious Montu Namdar Faces Another FIR After Viral Video Shows Him Abusing Cops

Ahmedabad: A fresh case has been registered against history-sheeter Montu Namdar, a convict serving a sentence in the 2022 murder case of BJP worker Rakesh Mehta, after a video showing him abusing police personnel and members of the public went viral on social media.

According to the Khadia police, the incident took place on Tuesday night when Namdar was being taken into custody in connection with another case recently registered against him. Police Inspector V.M. Lagaria said that Namdar allegedly created a public disturbance and verbally abused police personnel while he was being detained, prompting the registration of a new complaint.

The viral video purportedly shows Namdar arguing with police officers and bystanders, using abusive language and claiming influence in the Khadia area. His son can reportedly be seen attempting to calm him down, but Namdar allegedly continued the confrontation and is also seen threatening police personnel with legal action.

This latest case comes shortly after Khadia police booked Namdar for allegedly intimidating a prosecution witness in the Rakesh Mehta murder case. According to the FIR, Namdar, who was out on parole, allegedly visited the vicinity of the witness’s office in Lalavasa Pol along with two associates and threatened the witness and his family over testimony that had played a role in securing his conviction.

Police are investigating both cases and have initiated further legal action against the accused. DeshGujarat
