Ahmedabad Hottest in Gujarat at 42.7°C as Monsoon Remains Elusive

Ahmedabad: With no onset of the southwest monsoon in sight in the near future, Ahmedabad and several parts of Gujarat are still reeling under intense summer heat. As per the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) daily weather report, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 42.7°C on Friday and remained the hottest place in the state. The temperature was around 3°C above the seasonal average.
Closely following was the state capital, Gandhinagar, at 42.5°C and Surendranagar at 41.8°C. Bhavnagar, Baroda, and Rajkot were among the other cities that recorded daytime temperatures over 40°C.
In Ahmedabad, the discomfort due to heat was enhanced by the high humidity level. Relative humidity stood at 64% in the morning at 8.30 am before dropping to 42% by 5.30 pm.
Furthermore, the city is set to witness the similar weather today also, as IMD has said that the maximum temperature will be around 42°C on Saturday in Ahmedabad. DeshGujarat
