Gujarat Police Recruitment Board Exam held across 7 Cities; Scanned OMR Sheets to Be Uploaded Within 24 Hours

Ahmedabad:The Gujarat Police Recruitment Board (GPRB) on Sunday conducted the written examination for recruitment to 12,733 vacancies in the state police department, recording an impressive attendance of around 91 per cent of registered candidates.
The examination was held for various posts, including Unarmed Police Constable, Armed Police Constable, Jail Sepoy and SRPF Constable under recruitment advertisement number GPRB/202526/1. The test was conducted simultaneously across 7 cities that are Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, Gandhinagar, Bhavnagar and Anand.The written test comprised multiple-choice questions (MCQs) carrying a total of 200 marks, with candidates marking their answers on OMR sheets.
According to the board, a total of 879 examination centres were set up for the recruitment test.Out of 2,63,345 registered candidates, around 2.40 lakh candidates appeared for the examination.
Nearly 17,000 personnel from the education department and around 9,000 officers and staff members from the police department were deployed to ensure smooth conduct of the examination.
The examination was conducted under the direct supervision of Superintendents of Police and Police Commissioners in the respective districts and commissionerates, while 19 IPS officers monitored arrangements across the state.
CCTV recording was carried out in every examination hall and live monitoring was undertaken throughout the examination. The board said that CCTV footage from all examination halls will be re-examined in the coming days by dedicated police CCTV review teams.
Biometric verification of all candidates was also conducted before they were allowed to appear for the test.
The Recruitment Board stated that the examination concluded peacefully across the state. Scanning of OMR sheets is currently underway, and scanned copies of candidates’ OMR sheets will be uploaded on the board’s website within the next 24 hours. Candidates will be able to download their OMR sheets until June 29.
