Grasim, Lubrizol Inaugurate First Phase of World’s Largest CPVC Resin Plant in Gujarat
June 16, 2026
Bharuch: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Tuesday inaugurated the Phase 1 of Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) resin plant set up by Grasim Industries (Aditya Birla Group) and Lubrizol at GIDC, Vilayat, in Bharuch.
The companies had broken ground on the first phase of the 100,000-metric-tonne CPVC resin plant in October 2023. The facility, located at Grasim Industries’ site, is set to become the world’s largest single-site CPVC resin production facility, designed to meet the growing demand for CPVC used in piping applications in India as well as neighbouring countries such as Nepal, Bangladesh and Indonesia.
According to the company, Phase 1 of the CPVC resin manufacturing plant, with a planned capacity of approximately 50,000 metric tonnes per annum, was inaugurated on Tuesday.
The resin plant will utilise Lubrizol’s most advanced CPVC resin manufacturing technology. This technology, combined with Grasim’s expertise in manufacturing, will enable the production and supply of high-quality, locally manufactured CPVC material.
The project is also an example of environment-friendly industrial development, featuring 70% water reuse and a zero-liquid-discharge system. DeshGujarat
