Traffic Diversions on Ring Road Flyover for 2 Months Due to Surat Metro Work
June 16, 2026
Surat: Amid the ongoing work on the Surat Metro Rail project, the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) is set to carry out pier cap work on metro pillars near Ring Road on the Bhestan-Saroli route. As a result, traffic diversions will remain in effect on the Ring Road flyover for the next 62 days.
According to the traffic diversion plan announced by the authorities, all heavy vehicles travelling from the Mandarwaja Ring Road overbridge towards Sahara Darwaja and the railway station will not be allowed to use the flyover. An alternative route has been provided, directing heavy vehicles to pass beneath the bridge.
Similarly, the entry of heavy vehicles from Sahara Darwaja towards the Mandarwaja Ring Road overbridge has also been prohibited. Drivers have been advised to use the route beneath the bridge.
As the Mandarwaja Ring Road bridge approach from Bombay Market has also been closed to heavy vehicles, alternate routes have been designated for those heading towards Udhna Darwaja. Heavy vehicles can travel via the road beneath the Parvat Patiya bridge and proceed through Kabutar Circle, Anjana Farm and Kinnari Cinema to reach Udhna Darwaja.
Alternatively, drivers can take the route from Anjana Bridge via the Bhathena overbridge and Rokadiya Hanuman Mandir Road to reach Udhna Darwaja.
Heavy vehicles travelling from Falsawadi towards Mandarwaja have also been directed to pass beneath the overbridge. In addition, the flyover will remain closed to light vehicles between 11 pm and 6 am during the construction period. DeshGujarat
