Gujarat Pharmacy Admissions: Provisional Merit List Released, 13,461 Students Shortlisted

Ahmedabad: The Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) on Friday released the provisional merit list for first-year degree and diploma pharmacy admissions in Gujarat. Of the 14,418 students who registered for admission this year, 13,461 have been included in the provisional merit list.

Officials said 12,820 seats are available across 160 pharmacy colleges offering degree and diploma courses in the state. Since the number of eligible candidates is only slightly higher than the available seats, most students on the merit list are likely to secure admission.

The merit list has been prepared based on GUJCET and Class 12 scores. Among the shortlisted candidates, 5,639 are boys and 7,822 are girls. Milan Khandhar of the Gujarat Board topped the GUJCET-based merit list with 99.95 merit marks. Students can check their merit status by logging into the admission committee’s official portal.

Board-wise, 12,049 candidates are from the Gujarat Board, followed by 1,223 from CBSE and 84 from ICSE. Another 106 candidates are from other boards, including Cambridge, NIOS and the International Baccalaureate (IB).

The category-wise breakup includes 4,539 candidates from the general category, 2,686 from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 908 from Scheduled Castes (SC), 4,130 from Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC), and 1,198 from Scheduled Tribes (ST).

As per the admission policy, 95% of seats in government and grant-in-aid institutions and 50% of seats in self-financed colleges will be filled based on GUJCET merit. The remaining 5% of seats in government institutions will be allotted through JEE or NEET scores.

The mock round choice-filling process will continue until June 25. The final merit list and mock allotment results will be declared on June 27, paving the way for the regular admission rounds. DeshGujarat
